What IS THE SA 8000 SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY CERTIFICATE?

SA 8000 Social Responsibility standard is a corporate social responsibility standard accepted by the International Social Responsibility Institution in 1997 for businesses worldwide. It is a standard that specifies the procedures for companies to develop acceptable approaches and practices regarding social responsibility.

The working environment of the enterprises that comply with the SA 8000 Standard is considered to comply with ethical and global standards. The most crucial feature sought for partnership or investment is that a globally recognized institution will approve the working environment. It reduces the risks of negligence, loss of reputation, and possible lawsuits of companies. With the institutionalization provided by the standards, the management and performance of companies with a supply chain will become better. Corporate social responsibility projects have become instruments that enable companies to compete in the international market, with standards such as SA 8000, which are no longer just advertising and marketing policies of companies.
