What is Energy Efficiency?

Energy efficiency means achieving the same result using less energy under the same conditions. A good or service must be maintained to save energy. Instead, it is sufficient to maximize the productivity of each unit of energy we use. Thus, energy waste will be eliminated. Costs will be reduced by preventing waste. The easiest way to ensure efficiency is to prevent waste. By avoiding waste, the fight against climate change will be achieved. In addition, even the air we breathe will begin to be cleaned.

Since it is a budget-friendly process, the welfare level of society will be increased. It is one of the most cost-effective ways to help businesses improve profitability. At the same time, with the profitability provided by the companies in their turnover, the door will be opened for them to conduct new technological research in this field. Actions that ensure energy efficiency are straightforward to change habits. For example, savings can be achieved by turning off unnecessary lights or using LED bulbs that consume less electricity instead of incandescent bulbs.

What Were the Benefits of Energy Efficiency?

Most light switches and receptacles get their power from nearby power stations. These power plants typically use fossil fuels such as natural gas and coal. There are many disadvantages to using fossil fuels. However, the most important is the release of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, which cause climate change. Even the indoor air quality in your home is affected by the increase in greenhouse gases. By providing energy efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions will be less. Thus, air pollution will begin to decrease. Public health and ecological balance will be protected by starting to fight the threats posed by climate change. Energy-efficient products are more costly to purchase than other options. However, it usually saves you money on long-term bills.

By reducing energy use, monthly energy bills will be lowered. Energy efficiency not only saves money but also increases confidence in energy systems. However, it also provides many benefits in terms of environment, society, and health. Energy-efficient buildings cost less to heat, cool, and operate. At the same time, industry and production facilities want to continue to consume conventional energy sources as they produce products at lower costs. Energy efficiency programs are efficient for underserved communities. Thus, creating cost-effective technologies and infrastructures will increase society's resilience. Only in this way will it be possible to achieve equality in energy supply.

What is Energy Efficiency Week?

The world economy has grown 40 times more since 2050. Today's energy needs are at a different rate than in the past. If the demand for natural resources has increased by eighty percent, the need for using renewable energy resources has arisen. Countries that depend on foreign energy in the energy field, such as Turkey, should be conscious of energy efficiency to meet this need. In 2007, efforts were made to achieve savings with the Energy Efficiency Law. Within the scope of the related law, it aims to increase efficiency in the use of energy resources and energy to use energy effectively, to prevent energy waste, to alleviate the burden of energy costs on the economy, and to protect the environment.
