Today is World Ocean Day!

Covering three-quarters of our planet, the oceans are one of the sources of life that support the nourishment of humanity and all other organisms on Earth. The oceans play a significant role in our planet's need for oxygen. Home to most of the world's biodiversity, the oceans also provide a source of protein for more than one billion people around the world. However, more than 40 million people are employed in ocean-based industries.

Fifty percent of coral reefs take in more than the ocean can produce, while 90 percent of the large fish population is on the verge of extinction. For this reason, it is obliged to repay the oceans that have supported us for millions of years. The theme of World Oceans Day 2023 is "Planet Ocean: The Tides are Changing." The United Nations seeks to raise awareness to join forces with leaders, scientists, non-governmental organizations, celebrities, and the public to increase the value placed on the ocean.

As the CoBirebir family, we know the importance of the oceans in human life and continue to work to help companies and society solve this situation.
