Green Development and Disability Rights

Yeşil Kalkınma ve Engelli Hakları

Sustainability and disability rights are the cornerstones of social change, and the integration of these two concepts is critical for a more just, inclusive, and livable world.

The emergence of 'disabled-friendly' green spaces in many cities today is a tangible manifestation of the integration of sustainability and disability rights. These spaces, such as wheelchair-accessible parks and recreation areas, not only enhance environmental awareness but also foster social participation by encouraging disabled individuals to engage with nature.

The start of the establishment of the Amputee Women's National Football Team in the field of sports in February 2024 is a development that supports women and amputee athletes and gives hope to future generations. Seeing women and disabled athletes actively in sports is a hopeful step for the future.

Such projects and work supporting disability rights provide a concrete example of harmony and cooperation with green development, offering an inspiring model for a more just and equitable world. Wider adoption and support of these projects will be essential in social transformation for a sustainable future.
