Agreement on Granting Funds and Grants to Provide Cooperation in Clean Energy between Turkish and Danish Companies Has Been Signed!
Danish Wind Energy Exporters' Association (DWEA) officials visited Turkey. It was announced that agreements would be signed due to the visit to ensure cooperation between Danish and Turkish companies in the clean energy sector. Representatives of Turkish energy companies have worked to address potential areas of cooperation. Representatives of companies and organizations that came together under the BEST For Energy Project agreed to cooperate in providing clean energy.
The project, implemented by İzmir Development Agency (İZKA) in partnership with the Energy Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (ENSİA), will be financed within the framework of financial cooperation between the European Union and the Republic of Turkey.
The delegation, consisting of representatives of companies and institutions in the Izmir clean energy ecosystem and officials from İZKA and ENSİA, visited two different regions in Denmark. The delegation from Denmark came to Turkey to represent facilities that develop, build and operate offshore and onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage facilities, renewable hydrogen, green fuel plants, and bioenergy plants. Denmark's largest energy company Ørsted and startups, scaleups, and large companies operating in the field of clean energy and clean technologies were represented. In particular, they visited the INCUBA Science Park, which brings together the R&D departments. The delegation also exchanged information with their colleagues in Denmark about the investment and supply opportunities in Izmir, which has become one of the most important production centers in Eastern Europe and the MENA region for wind turbine equipment production.
All visited institutions were invited to the events to be held in Turkey as part of the BEST For Energy Project. A consensus was reached to increase cooperation with concrete projects. The BEST for Energy project is an important application that puts sustainable development, green growth, and clean technology at the forefront. The main issues of sustainable development are to prevent the destruction of resources through waste management. The project is to keep the environment clean through green growth, clean energy, and clean technologies.
Global climate change, population growth, decrease in natural resources, and increasing environmental pollution threaten the world's future. Many countries have made it an obligatory way to pursue projects that will find solutions to global climate problems to achieve sustainable growth. Green growth has been a good model for the realization of this transformation. As a result of the Paris Agreement requires the development and use of clean energy technologies to switch to zero greenhouse gas emissions to combat climate change and achieve this transition.
BEST for Energy project aims to contribute to the program's purpose by developing a competitive cluster in the Clean Energy and Clean Technology Sector to increase competitiveness and ensure social and economic development.
